I'd take the Busa.

Not as fast as the ZX-14 but faster than a 600.

If the new Busa wasn't coming out I'd buy the current one, but with the new one coming I'd have to wait and see.

The ZX14 is a nice bike but the Busa platform just fits me better. That being said, I probably wouldn't buy either one of them.
Nowadays if it weighs over 500 lbs. it doesn't appeal to me, too many years riding stripped down racebikes has ruined me.

i'm too lazy to read the whole thread so if this is a repost, I'm sorry.

Cycle World magazine published an article in Sept 2006 comparing the zx-14 and the busa. Zx-14 came out top in pretty much everything!

I have beaten both on a 1000, but i'd prefer the busa. I dont like the fins on the 14 and it feels like your riding a big jetski.

Ive ridden a Busa but not the ZX14. I have heard the smoothness of the big ninja has changed a lot of minds.
Ride a naked bike at 100 mph and it feels a whole lot faster .
Ride a fairing bike at 100 mph and itdoesnt feel like 100 mph compared to the naked bike..
That said a stock busa will feel faster than a zx14 but it isnt. The big ninja is deceptively fast and really smooth from what I have heard.
just my theory here.

I like them both. In due time I will have to make room in the garage for a 1K plus bike.
