...sometimes it's the little things...

I'm really beginning to hate the intersection of Cypresswood & Lockridge drive. Cypresswood is a boulevard, Lockridge is a 2 lane road through the neighborhood. The intersection is horrible during rush hour, as too many drivers have come to ignore the fact that it is a 4 way stop/intersection and try to treat it like a divided freeway.

Today, I had to run some errands and get some measurements for a sump build. I'm cruising north on lockridge and as I'm coming to a stop there are 2 vehicles on the left going east, 2 on the right side going west and a kid waiting to cross. In the west bound turn lane, the school cop is parked.
The east/west bound traffic does their thing, I motion the kid to cross so he knows I'm aware it's his 'turn' to go. I'm 1/2 across the east bound lanes and BOTH the fuktards on the westbound start driving. I lay into the horn, hit the high beams to light em up. The closest one turns his head, eyes open wide and slams his breaks as he sees I'm headed straight for him. The woman in the adjacent lane never bothers to look and keeps toodling along.
I swing pass between the median and swing in front of the now stopped civic (Mr. Wide eyes/poopy pants) and pull up to whom we will refer to as the oriental bat, or OB. I make sure the lane is well and clear (hey, 20 mph school zone) and point out the fact that the intersection is a 4 way stop and that she needs to lean to pay attention and check for cross traffic making sure my volume is sufficient to pentrate her window.
So, having said my piece..I ride up to the light, in the middle lane. I note OB goes into the right turn lane, and blithely drives on.

I arrive at the customers house, do my bit...then start the ride home. Decided to swing by Walgreens and pick up some smokes and supplies (coffee). As I walk into the Walgreens, I see the OB standing by the shopping carts, as I walk in she sees me and quickly turns & scuttles off around the carts towards the back of the store.

...sometimes it's the little things in life that bring such joy.

...and I've been kicking around the idea of putting some signs up in the median for the eat/westbound traffic stating something to the effect "This is a 4 way stop/intersection, pay attention jackass".

I don't think anybody knows the law. I wish I were responsible for handing out drivers licenses. I promise there would be a helluva lot fewer people behind the wheel.

Does anybody know what those lines that curve through the entire interesection mean? EVERYDAY I turn left out of the middle lane and the douche comes over on me before even completing the turn. I stay in my lane and lay on the horn! I can't wait until they hit me.

Yes. When I ride I turn left from the left lane (one way street in downtown that heads straight for the HOV) - all those other cars know they can't stay in that lane, so they change immediately!

I LOVED the look on the girl's face today when I glared at her.

Stop whoring.

I stole it from my geochem professor. Unfortunately there is enough math in chemistry to last a lifetime... after I'm all done, I could probably get a minor in math.

I love calmly staring at ppl when they up. Something about the big 'ol helmet staring directly at the makes them feel extra dumbassy.

I understand all of what you all are saying. I'm slowly becoming not such a nice person these days because of the I see every day. I do IT work so I drive on a daily basis from client to client and it just eats me up inside when I see people almost committing involuntary manslaughter.

when i'm in the car, i always take the far turn lane and hope someone does come over and hit me. no question that it'd be their fault. damage the hood on my car and a new OEM hood would total the car. total it and i'll buy an aftermarket hood for a few G's and my car will be paid for.
