Only an attorney can request defensive driving via mail for Texas City. They're kinda brutal that way.

If you're 25 years old or under, it is cheaper to do defensive driving.

someone will correct me but I believe that when you have a ticket deferred you will pay inflated court costs that are similar to what the ticket would have cost - but nothing will hit your driving record if you fulfill the terms of the probation.

DD will cost much less but you can only do it once a year.

I think the cop was almost probably giving you a break by writing you for 24 instead of 25+ over. He left you with the possibility of defensive. I'd take it, when you can take defensive for a ticket at the absolute legal limit for it then that's the best time to cash it in.

If it's judge Mike Nelson is my uncle and he will throw the book at you. U have to go down sign paperwork before court date to tale defensive driving even if u defer it got to come down here to pay and do paper work. My suggestion if u can go 3 months without a violation do it. But if u get pulled over and ticketed it will go on record. DD can take it at home online or go to class. DD way to go if u haven't taken it in last year. Mike use to ride doesn't anymore so he can b to bikers it any law breakers.
