40+ is expected for pretty much any mid class bike. litre bikes get anything from 25 - 35, could be a little higher but it doesnt seem very common.

I get 55mpg on my SV650 (200 miles on 3.5 gallons) . My insurance (liability + medical) is <$200 per year. Parking at school is free.

I did a track day and only used one tank of gas the entire day. I usually ride about 80-90mph. I only get to joy ride about once every month - I can always go around 200 miles before I have to fill up.

I never understand people who say they can't afford a bike. I spend less than $20 per week on gas. My commute is about 35 miles.

42-46 hwy mpg. 42 was running 90+ on back roads, 46 was running 75 on the highway. In bumper to bumper standstill commuting traffic I average 37-38. 37 is the lowest ever.

And I have always checked my mileage on every vehicle every fill up. Its a good way to tell if you may be having issues.

I only get 36 mpg on my Triumph. I guess it's due to me always staying in my powerband when I'm on the freeway. That and I probably could loose a few pounds.

I just changed from my summer (17.5) to my winter (20) pilot jets and noticed a
4 mpg loss, went from 49.5/50.5 MPG to 46 the last 2 tanks....

Oh well, it's better then having to drive 10 miles before taking the choke off....

I get about 2.5 sessions on a tank on my 1000 at GSS That's probably about 15 - 18 MPG. On the highway, 75, maybe around 35MPG.

On the DRZ, more like 55MPG.

My SV650 always returned at least 45 MPG in mixed riding.

Is that on the hack? If so and is that a Beamer, Dnepr or Ural?
I always hear you would be hard pressed to get 35mpg on those.

I was getting 36mpg cruising at 73 mph and sitting in rush hour. Then I put the cobra pipes and K&N filter in storage and went back to stock. Now I get 45 mpg at 75 mph and 50 mpg at 65 mph (with the before mentioned traffic). I accelerate like a grandma (damned clutch) and putz along in the slow lane until I come up on traffic then I never slow down and do some fun/fancy maneuvering to stay off the brake.

Wish I could get 200 to a tank. I'll be lucky if I hit 115 before the light starts bothering me : ( . That's with mixed riding. Cruise/sprint I'm sitting at around 35 or so. Fill up. Ride bout 100 or so qnd fill up again. Still cheaper than my civic and more fun.

I've only run ~ 600 miles so far but I am getting 40+ mpg easy on the ZX14. Very impressed.

It's on my XJ600, '96, air cooled, 2 valve per cylinder, 600cc's of raw hp....

That is a Dnepr MT-16 in my avtar. I built it from barn fresh to a pretty nice
ride but it had some short comings that I couldn't get over...

Kinda like a gorgious girl with a up looking nose....

I used to get 45-50 on my 636 if I was playing nice. Last I looked(6 months) it was down to about 40. I know I need a TB sync and valve adjustment though.
