speed traps

I-10 around sealy has some of the worst speed traps. they got me, the cop was on the bridge looking at traffic coming. my radar detector didnt have a chance. They hit you with laser as you head toward them. got me at 110, started slowing down cause it looked funny someone on the bridge. be very careful through Sealy. Yeah i hauled after I figured what happened but they had troopers waiting for me down the road.

for some reason, when i read this thread i couldnt help but to think of "that guy" with the bad stories everyone loves to hear.

...not saying your "that guy". So did they only get you for speeding or more than that? I'd like to hear what your fine was.

if you're gonna speed, there are things you can do to minimize the chances of them getting you... and it's not by running. however, with your mentality, I do not feel like disclosing those details

What you drive matters a lot on I-10. I regularly set cruise at ~85 in my VW hatchback and I've yet to get a ticket. I have been pulled over in my wife's BMW SUV for doing a tick less than 80.

odd, there's no setting on a radar gun for "vehicle type".

VW hatchbacks bend reality. They always appear slow, so they are always going slowly.

fz1 on 45, Tundra on I-10. The difference was/is the amount of cops.

3 in 470 miles vs 9 in 356 miles....

My last speeding violation/ticket was 1987-88...

Don't be the lead dog, don't 'speed' by going ludicrous/stupid speeds.

The worst police presence is between San Antonio and the Valley on 281. They are mostly local cops though, not state troopers.

I agree on not being the lead dog. Setting up behind someone in a flashier car with just a bit more speed is a great way to make time on the freeway.

i remember the ridiculous speed trap that is the village of Iowa Colony. state shut that down for just that reason. on 288 you enter and leave Iowa Colony city limits three times in less than just a couple of miles.
