Thanks for all the tips. I don't plan to upgrade any time soon. I will master the 250 then move up

Where area are you in Houston? I like to ride from 290, southbound on fry road and then eastbound on 529, then southbound on eldridge.

To get the tight turns you should use tennis cut in half to use as cones. I practiced in an elementary school parking lot. Place them wide apart for large figure 8 turns. Only until you feel that you've mastered it, then place them closer and closer. It's about the looking direction, body-weight transfer, smooth throttle and clutch management. Good luck.

I took my class at awesome cycles and they really are awesome! Did the tight turns there but I guess what I really meant is the freeway turns like the one from 610 to 59. I know the bike leans more than I expect. Just have to get over the fact that turns like that intimidate me, but I'm getting better. I live in the Humble area.

Go slower before you get to the turn. It's pointless to go too hot into the turn especially for beginners. Always remember, stay in your lane, look where you want to go, and if necessary lean by pressing harder because you'll end up going with the flow. I think it's the fear of leaning more which still gets me from time to time. It's just experience and practice of getting to know your body and you bike.

You could probably try practicing those turns in the morning on weekends when there are less cars which can increase confidence.

Do a track day. That will get you cornering nicely...

Better than pushing that limit on the street some where.

Lots and lots of fun and learning.

Basically, they take the fun of riding on the street (speeding, turns etc) and remove traffic and other dangerous things and put you in a safe place to learn yer limits. Most TD places offer instruction that offer help on things you need / want to improve on.
