Noob!

Hey guys! Ok so I've never rode a bike before, took the class, and got my first bike the next day. Got a '10 Ninja EX250, and after 4 days of riding her I wish I would have gotten at least the 500! Kinda skeptical since it was my first bike but I got over the nerves the next day. Now im in 5th gear and wishing the little engine was bigger. Loving the looks of the bike but sometime soon looking for a bigger one. Look forward to this forum! and learning new stuff!

Welcome to MH. Hope you can come out to the meets some time.

Ditto on what Solracer said. Tthere's a lot more to learn about riding and bikes in general. In my opinion, I learned the most going slow by doing tight figure 8's. Plus, you also don't need a fast bike to learn how to take corners properly and to learn clutch control.

+1

treat even the smallest ninjette with respect, sometimes i wish i hadn't jumped from my 250 to a 900 and a 500-650 instead, my turning sucks...bad...enjoy riding and be safe!

learning how to go faster is the easy part. any dumb dumb can do it, the trick is to learn how to turn and how to judge traffic patterns and retarded drivers. stick with the 250 for at least a year, there is no way in you have out grown it in under a week. If you truly feel that you have outgrown it, then you should sell it cause you are a danger to yourself and others around you.

This.

Plus, there really isn't any reason, ever, to go over 100mph (doesn't the new 250 top out around 105?) on the streets around here - that's just asking for trouble.

Welcome to MH -

Welcome to MH and the world of motorcycles. Take advantage of the light bike, learn to throw your bike around. It'll make riding the big bike better for you.

What part of town are you in?

Yeah; the 250' 100mph, it just takes them a while to get there
