Is he trying to Scam me?

Listed my WR on Craigslist. I get an e-mail asking if I still have the bike, I reply yes. This is her next reply...

Thanks for your response, I am quite okay with your price, I need you to understand that i am willing and ready to purchase it right away, put it off the AD site, consider me as your favorite buyer, and Please note that i have a shipper/mover who handles my shipping arrangement anywhere in the world, he would be coming for the pickup, after you have received payment, which would be through paypal, If this is acceptable, advice soon as i am an hydrographer and i am buying this for my Dad,i am at work right now .I can only pay through pay pal at the moment as i do not have access to my bank account online, but i have it attached to my pay pal account, and this is why i insisted on using pay pal to pay,all i will need is your pay pal email address to make the payments, and if you do not have a pay pal account yet,its pretty easy to set one up at www.paypal.com,i will be expecting your email.I have a pick up agent that will come for the pick up after payments has been sorted.
I want you to provide me with the following information for me to proceed with the Payment...
Your PayPal e-Mail Address :
full name:
I have a pick up agent that will come and pick it up after i have made the payment...

She lists his name, company name (??) and phone number as if closing a business email. She also replied from what seems to be a personal e-mail instead of the craigslists randoms.

Thanks fellas.

I normally don't have to ask such inane questions but when all she asks for is my paypal email address that doesn't immediately strike me as a farce. The rest of the e-mail does sound shady though.

Nowadays who knows what they can do, once you provide your paypal info, ??? Any one that is not willing to deal in person is not worth trusting anymore.

you attempt to put that in your account and either they get your bank info or the funds are not really there and you become liable to your bank for the amount of what "she" sent you.

Well I think I'll pass. I have no funds in my paypal so I'm not worried about her stealing it from there, and my bank account isn't linked up with it at the moment but her e-mail just doesn't seem too legit.

- The bike I own
- All the bikes I used to own which I still list so everyone on the forums will know how cool I am

the obvious thing to look out for here, is to make sure that the money makes it to your paypal account. Sometimes these guys will send you a fake link that shows your money made it to your account, or they try and get you to login to a fake paypal login screen to get your login info. I know it sounds stupid, but more people fall for that than you could imagine.

Of course is a SCAM!!!!!

They are going to wire a bogus check to PayPal. you get your money, then when PayPal finds out the check is not good. you will owe PayPal the money!!!

I think that's the way it works but not sure.

probably best, there's plenty of legit people around who want to buy a bike, you'll find the right one

if you have to ask when it's this obvious, I would advise you to stop using craigslist...
I mean this thread and the one before
http://www.motohouston.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=70213

you can't be that naive

How is that being so naive when all they ask for is my paypal email address? If this were a 100% legit sale and went through paypal, they would need that info as well.

Don't be so quick to judge. It's not like she was asking for my social to send me a check. Sometimes people, especially ones who didn't speak english as their first language, may write things in e-mail that don't sound 100% normal.
