I can understand the plugs cause it does block out a lot of wind noise, but for me, when I through the plugs in, I can't here jack.

I voted Yeah but I didnt start wearing them till I did riding for more than an hour at a time. Actually started wearing them in January. I forgot them on that Sunday Galveston ride with you guys in July. My ears were ringing like heck after I got home. Wont forget them again.

You need to find some ear plugs with a lower NRR(Noise Reduction Rating). If you use earplugs with a high NRR (around 30-35 decibels), you won't hear anything. Look for earplugs with an NRR around 15-20db, as they will allow you to hear traffic and emergency sirens. Most cycle shops stock earplugs, they're just usually overlooked.

a headset does not block both ears and your not getting enough sound out of a phone call to block out any thing else you would need to hear while driving

wearing headphones on a bike makes no sense to me....esp. since this was brought up in an earplug thread. ur just adding more noise / distraction for your ears to deal with. :dontknow:

My shoei gets this high pitched whistle, and it goes away if I ride with my head more pointing up, and then the low noise when the visors up, ugh.

I just got back from riding around for about 5 hours, mostly highway speeds, and it really hit me, ears rang for a while. I really want to pick up some earplugs, but then its more stuff I have to remember, but ringing sucks

[grandmasboy] Whats that ringing, do I have a tumor? [/grandmasboy]
