Wasnt trying to be a , just wish people would respect themselves and there familys more and think before jumping on a bike without proper gear. IE a helmet goes a long ways. IT is not the end all be all of saviors but sure goes a long ways to save a life.

Would I call for emergency service? YES
Would I actually stop and make sure they were okay ? YES, as by law your are suppose to stop and render aid. Even though as his own admission people dont or didnt do.
Would I have left after makeing sure he was okay? YES, would I think he was stupid for not wearing his Helmet and riding a motorcycle? YES but that is his choice to make.

I stopped for a guy on the 290 HOV a couple of weeks back after reading a thread on here about someone who broke down and didn't get any help from his fellow riders. I didn't want to be "that guy". He had an old gixer. The front end was all tore up like it had flipped end over end at some point in the past. He didn't have any gear on just a helmet. Said the bike just quit running while he was driving. I offered him a motorcycle rescue number but he said his buddy was on his way to pick it up. I left cause I needed to go to work. Felt like an for leaving him on the HOV. Glad your okay. I'll be checking my chain more often thanks to your thread.

That right there is just plain... Not right!!!

Help is help no matter what the situation is!! What if a rider was wearing gear and the helmet comes off. You cant tell if they have a jacket or not in the grass. Come on!!

I have stopped before, and have always stopped. This poster "ddgtomahawk" was out on Honea Egypt right out of Crown Oaks on a sunday. A guy that was with them went down in the corver I was on my GSXR at the time, and stopped to make sure they where okay. I have been called late in the night to go pick up people bikes in the past, couple years ago. So yep I have stopped and helped on several occasions.

I have helped more people than I can count on many different occasions. I really dont care to help people that dont care to help themselves at bare minimum a helmet. Just common sense to me.

Just because someone doesnt wear a helmet or other certain gear doesnt mean you dont have to help them. If anything your worse for even thinking that. not everyone makes the right choice the first time, and many of you, old and young, riders have experienced, at one time or another, a collision because your own mistake and were lucky enough to have a second chance to fix that mistake, for example, riding with all your gear from now on. How would you like it if you were downed and broke something, perhaps even start bleeding out and no one stops for you? "well that wont happen cause i wear all my gear" ok what if your son, daughter, brother, sister, or other loved one is downed cause they werent wearing gear and no one helped cause they thought they deserved it? Come on..

Ah, so you're not really an ... you just don't like blood, huh? Makes you queasy? You don't have to act all tough for us... It's okay to say "I freak the out if I see blood (and especially brains)"

You know what, I changed my mind. I think I will stop for people even if they won't stop for people.

Brains really are not that bad. I do hate a ton of blood though. Arterial spray will get me light headed.

The 5 day old ammonia smell combined with days old has made me hurl. The most memorable was an old dude half dead. We went in on a welfare check. He had been on the bed for days. When I touched him I could feel the cold wetness through the gloves. That combined with the smell sent me running for air.
