i ate $hit yesterday

i was hualing off of willclayton and 59. like a dumbass i didnt tighten my chain. i went under 59 and started down shifting and nothing happened. i started to lean and brake i kept inching closer to the curb i sat up and took it. rear tire was locked up cause of the chain. bike went sideways and i came off. banged my head sled about 60ft on the grass. the scariest thing was sliding next to my bike waiting for it to slam into me. i stopped regained my composure. calmed the girl that stopped down she was freaking out more than me. her husband died on a motor cycle. i learned after getting b*tched at from my wife and two cops WEAR YOUR HELMET. i will never ride without it on my head again. another bike passed me and didnt stop niether did the 50 other cars. io always said ill stop for someone, no other rider stopped for me.

Glad you lived to come to the realization that a helmet is a good idea.

So its down to a quick decision on whether or not not the downed rider is wearing the right gear? That's up man. What is the proper gear for you to render aid? That's like saying I'm not gonna stop for on ZX7's. They are not worthy of my help.

If you dont respect yourself enough to wear at minimum a helmet, then it was your own stupid choice to make. I wouldnt say it was a quick decision, but if I stopped and saw that the rider had a helmet on side of the bike and not on his head, well I would probably get back in my car and go about my way. Not my idea of a good day, to see brain matter all over the place, since someone didnt have enough since to wear the helmet on there head and not as a bike slider. I seen way more than I care to see, and why should I help someone who shows to me that they could care less about themselves ??? by not wearing at least a helmet ???

good thing your ok, how bad is the bike? lesson learned always, ALWAYS check your bike over before and after you ride and this could of been prevented!!! every accident can be prevented, its just a matter of how silly or stupid the reason is..... this one was pretty simple... just saying. i always check my bike or any bike i get on over real good before i get on.

Seriously? You would decide not to help somebody who just crashed because they were not wearing gear?

Wow.

gotta agree here. So if someone;s in a car wreck, and it's obvious they didn't wear their seat belt, you'll simply walk away as they are dying? yikezzzzz

Stupid decision to not wear a helmet, of course! but to not help another human who's obviously hurt and you can help, u suck dirty racid .

btw, how did the taste OP? any peanuts?

Glad to hear you learned your lesson. While I would normally join in on the "Dumbass" bashing, I think enough has been said and I am glad you have seen the light. Hope the bike isn't too bad. Like Camaro said, check your bike before every trip and this could have been prevented. ATGATT

People in cars probably think we are all squids making bad safety decisions. If you use gear as a deciding factor to render aid you are a true piece of IMO.

I'm assuming that is your little girl in the pic? I have one too as you can see. Remember, every ride you take is a risk, make sure it is a calculated one. She needs her daddy. Gear, tires, chain, brakes. Should check at least those 4 every ride.

So would you 2 decide not to help if it was clear neglect of maintenance was the cause too?
