hmm.......new M/C laws in FLA.

320.02(1)
Effective July 1, 2008, a motorcycle, motor driven cycle or moped registration may not be issued unless the registrant has a motorcycle endorsement on their driver license.

322.12(5) (a)
Effective July 1, 2008, all applicants for a motorcycle endorsement must show proof of completion of the motorcycle safety course.

316.211(6)
Each motorcycle registered to a person under 21 years of age must display a license plate that is unique in design and color. (This paragraph is effective January 1, 2007.)

and there are a few others.

about time! they have alot of accidents and deaths due to motorcycles in florida. they dont even have to wear a helmet, just a cool pair of shades to protect their eyes from bugs.

I think the plates should be pink, with little tenticles hanging off the sides.

I think that we are missing something...the heading of the tread is laws....in FLA not TX. It will help them but ain't changing things here. And we all have seen that things need to change here as well. I have ran out of fingers counting "DAs" ridding in tank tops, shorts and flip-flops(thongs).:nono:

the special plates for under 21 is because of the helmet laws, under 21 MUST wear a lid

some other new laws:

318.19(5)
A charge of speeding in excess of 30 mph over the posted limit will require a mandatory hearing. eff 10/01/06

318.14(9)
Any driver charged with exceeding the posted speed limit by more than 30 mph will not be permitted to elect traffic school. effective 10/01/06

318.18(3) (g)
A second or subsequent offense of exceeding the posted speed by more than 30 mph will result in the fine being doubled. For the purpose of this paragraph, the term conviction means a finding of guilt as a result of a jury verdict, nonjury trial, or entry of a plea of guilty. The increased fine amounts are to be used to fund trauma services.
