Red face exhaust

ok kinda just a question i want some other opinions on.

i have the yoshi Ride Smart-5 slip on. was wanting to go into an muffler shop and see about getting the cat. cut out and just a 'test-pipie' out in. just a straight pipe from the headers to the slip on.

as most bikes are when stock from factory.. [ that i have seen] the headers are welded straight into the cat. when going into the muffler shop.. should i have [a. have them weld the 'test-pipe' straight to the headers or [b. do the smart way and maybe put some sort of /clamp part put in place for easier removal at an later date..

i mean its pretty much the obv. answer of going about the second method. just idk..wanted some input on the idea. maybe some do's/don't's

oh and what to tell them exactly i want when explaining to the welder..unless i just repeat whats above. thanks guys

i would have the welder come to see your bike. explain to him what you want to do, pointing out the parts specifically. tell him you'd like it clamped onto your stock pipe instead of welded.

right i was going to take the bike into them.

so just have the 'test-pipe' per say clamped onto the headers and onto my piping after the cat.?

thats what i had in mind. just didnt know if there was some special way of going about it.

What do your cats look like on this model?

On my 07 ZX-10, I just removed them, in the process of putting on a cat delete pipe I acciedently dropped my stock cat, and the catalystis broke and fell out.(Hint Hint). I re-installed the cat and sold the cat delete pipe.

Is your muffler steel? if so, remove it and bring it by the house, I can butcher it out for you and make a pass through pipe, If I acciedently drop it and the catalyst falls out, your out of luck, ( hint hint).

Flows a little better, a slightly better sound on stock exhaust.

if you want, you can save yourself the trouble of trying to explain it to a shop and just buy one...

you've been misinformed. oh, and you'd have to re-map the unit.
