When I first got my bike last year it had a 195 tire on a wheel meant for a 160 and some shot rear wheel bearings, got squirrelly as on turns at any speed. Ran wide on the freeway at a ridiculously low speed and proceeded to make an extremely embarrassing thread on here. I was puckered up pretty much every time I rode it. All is well now though Well not really it's still tearing up bearings but at least it has the right size tire.

Scared the out of me. I decided that it was a sign to go home for the day.. LOL

my super pucker:

background:
2 way street, single lane each direction. lady comin from the other direction needs to make a left. i slow down when i see her. she stops before proceeding the turn so i proceed straight. she decides to proceed as well....i t-bone her fender

fast forward to same week my bike is repaired and bak on the road:

cruisin along. comin up on an intersection, theres a car waiting to make a left at the intersection. as i reach the intersection, light turns yellow and the car decides to run it. all i remember is yelling "NOOOO...NOT AGAINNNN" and braking...barely missed the rear of the car...

I have pucker moments on a weekly basis. Every time I'm thinking, , MH almost had one less member! LOL...

Last one was out on 1488 in a long sweeper coming out of a blind corner. The oncoming car turned left in front of me and I was mid lean. Let go of the throttle and I dont remember if I tapped the brakes or not. Definitely snapped me out of my cloud of concentration. Now everytime I take that curve, I just slow it down expecting someone to be there.

Eastbound on Boudreaux crossing over 249. Two sets of lights, and the light on the northbound 249 feeder is a left turn yield if you're turning left to go toward Tomball. A car was stopped waiting for a hole in traffic to turn left, with two cars behind it, and me behind them. The car just ahead of me pulled out to go around on the right - out of the lane but still on pavement. I follow, and just before we get to the light the car I'm following straddles this huge-assed crater in the pavement. This thing was big - if the front wheel went in I knew I was going to go over and had no time to stop. I slid back on the seat and hit the throttle to get the front tire over, but banged the out of the rear tire when it dropped in. The bike stayed up and seemed functional, and I couldn't see anything wrong with the rim or tire when I stopped to check. The only thing I noticed was that the bike slammed hard enough that both mirrors were aiming down at the pavement.

About 4 years ago in my old Integra, I was the first car sitting at the light about to turn left onto Westheimer from Dairy Ashford. Light turned green and I stalled out A second later a Suburban runs the light going at least 50, came inches from my front bumper. That would have hurt, to say the least.

Always listen to that inner voice!

Sounds dumb but all has to be right w/ the motorcycle gods to have a good ride.

I was on a ride once, and literally 5 mins after taking off we get pulled over by a cop(not for speeding, for tucked plates). I new it was a sign to pack it in, but I decided to keep going. 30 minutes later my bike breaks down 30 miles from home.

If you think somethings not right, your probably right.

How about yesterday. Riding with a friend of mine on Beechnut headed from hwy 6 to the beltway to meet up with another friend of his. We are shooting through traffic some what aggressively. Well he shot a hole I know I wasn't going to make, so I came to the bumper of the vehicle he just passed waiting for another whole to open up some where. Mind you I'm way too close to this bumper now. All of a sudden I hear breaks screeching from behind as I glance to the rear view and see this POS car that looks like it's no stranger to being wrecked bounce on the curb between the two directions of traffic and does everything to not hit anyone. Well this idiot thought he was going to shoot through traffic like the bikes were and almost rear ended me. I mean had I been facing backwards I could have probably spit on his windshield. My sciatic nerve just went out Thurs and kept me home from work on Fri. Well when I get an adrenaline dump like that, when I calm down my lower back tenses up. OMG the pain from it reaggravating my barely recovering back... Yes I had to do a nut check. Figured they would have just fell plumb off. Almost got rear ended on more time on that very street one more time and the next time, I think the guy was just an a-hole of a driver. Needless to say that'll be one street to avoid for me

Was riding on I-10 2up with my girlfriend when some douchebag in a red honda CR-V pulls out of the left lane what seemed about 10 feet in front of me. Not just a regular lane change, but what I assume was a meth induced yank of the wheel which sent the car skidding sideways and then counter steer which broke all 4 wheels loose.
I'd been riding maybe a couple months at that point and one of the first times I'd ridden with my girlfriend and this basically scared the outta me for a split second then sent adrenaline and rage coursing through me.. which then led me to nearly stall my bike out when we came to a stop in traffic while I cussed him out. If I could have gotten close enough to him I would have given his door a good kicking too.

The last time I had a pucker moment... A wreck actually happened.

If you ride for any amount of time in this city you will pucker. Sometimes even go as far as farting. If you really get terrified you may brown streak your draws.

few weeks ago on 19shitty i was cruising around 45mph and i thought i heard a truck 2 inches from my helmet.

check rear view- nothing

head turn- theres a dude texting, and he has swerved into my lane about halfway. he just happened to look up and make eye contact with me at the exact same time i saw him. his face said it all. he swerved back into his lane, and went back to texting.

we pulled up next to each other at the next light. i wanted to say a few things but wouldnt have done anything useful other than escalating into total carnage.

Red face

just yesterday..
riding down walden road.. [lake conroe] its a very veryy worn blacktop road. downhills/up/some twisties.
ok so pull onto walden road off hwy105..i was riding in the left lane of this two lane road. there was an 18wheeler up front off to my right.. an ford escort in front me and a escalade directly next to me on the right.
car decides to cut off the 18wheeler pulling out of wal-mart.. have no idea why..
well he locks up his brakes. i begin to slow/down shift [i got my 3 seconds of following behind the escort..and bout 5 behind the 18wheeler]
the car that cut him off..decides to go further out into the road[that had stopped initially when they realized they cut him off] so now the car is coming into my lane. the escort infront me had started to slow as had i...well now they lady is near shoving her foot through teh floor board to stop. im thinking..oh this is awesome. so i down shift from 4th to 2nd quickly and start applying that pressure on both brakes.. my rear starts to sorta ABS skid/lock up. im like sweeeeeet. so i let on/off and continue to apply. while all this is happening the car that had originally cut us all off is still slowly moving forward [like wtf???] instead of slamming into the back of the escort i start leaning/steering towards the middle turning lane.. all the while still doing this ABS-style skid cause of how shitty/old walden roads blacktop is.
the car that cut us all off is heading right towards the center lane also and im like fuuuuuuuck you!!. lol manage to pull off like a rear tire s-skid and just go barley in between the front left bumper of the escort and rear left bumper of this old monte carlo that had cut us all off...
woooooh. now that im clear all this. i manage take my left hand off...ease up..relax and chunk up the finger to all behind me.
