Bluetooth Helmet/Speakers

Ok, so I just decided that I want some better quality music while I am riding. I'd rather *NOT* purchase a "bluetooth helmet" but prefer some good quality speakers for my current helmet. Just started looking around, but does anyone have some insight on this?

Avoid the Cardo Q2. I hear the G4 has a good sound though. Q2 isn't stereo and the music is blah.

I was just thinking that I might purchase one of the bluetooth helmets.

I make phone calls all the time. except I just place the phone inside the helmet while on speaker.

it sits right up against my face.. it isnt exactly comfortable.. but it cost less than a bluetooth helmet.

But it does its job.. and as long I am not on the freeway, we can have a clear conversation.

Why not just get headphones? I put my headphones on and keep them a good volume so I can still hear the music, but still hear whats goin on around me. Also, Perf_white_gt, why not just get a headphone headset? Tape the mic in your helmet, Ive done that with my blackberry before. As soon as the call ends, the music resumes. These are the Sony headphones I use when riding. If I am going on a long trip...40 miles or more...Ill use my blackberry headset with the mic on it, and like I said, Ill tape the mic on to the plastic inside my helmet. Everyone says they can hear me fine, little wind noise at highway speeds though.

You guys take phone calls while your on your bike? Seems a little sketchy. I get distracted just having headphones on. Would be kind of handy but I can't even chew gum and tie my shoes at the same time.

Yea, it doesn't really distract me at all. I still scan ahead and still alert enough to ride. But if I am doing something that warrants that extra 1% of attention, I tell them to hold on a sec.

But while in the military I got used to telling someone else how to do their own job while I was in the middle of my own... from 200ft underwater.

I am not sure what you will be able to fit under your helmet, I would assume just ear buds. Try out the low end sure in ear headphones, they get pretty good reviews.
