Yes. I was lucky and the pickup truck behind me had 2 cops that just got off duty in it (they were even still in uniform). There were a ton of cops that came by and even the fire dept came out. Because some of it happened on the HOV and some on the regular highway there were multiple departments involved. I have 2 case #'s , one for houston city and one for metro. I'm probably going to just call my insurance company and let them sort it out since I have full coverage and uninsured motorist as well.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes. I'm amazed the whole thing came out as well as it did considering!

Lol. I'm glad I was on the KLR and not my Z1000. Would have been much more damage I'm sure (both to me and the bike).

Actually my experience has shown me any claim-at fault or not at fault will raise rates. I argued that one with allstate for a long time before I left that terrible company.

Yes thats what I'm afraid of. But since my VIN and license # are in the police report I'm sure I'll have that problem no matter what I do. :BangHead:
Insurance companies use any excuse they can find to raise rates.

That's a good reminder for eveybody to be careful. You ride for so long and start to think nothing bad will happen. It goes to show, you never know when things will go bad.

Glad to hear you're ok.

it must vary with the company cause I have a lot of friends that sell insurance and they have told me different things as far claims not being your fault but premiums increasing anyway.
