Dealership Doesn't Like Deal, Takes Car Back

http://www.newschannel5.com/content/...p?q=BILL+HEARD

Quote:
Just one day after he bought the truck, a salesman from Bill Heard called to say the dealership was having second thoughts about the deal.

He told Kieselhorst that if he wanted to keep his truck, he needed to fork over another $10,000 -- something he refused to do. After all, he says, they had a signed deal.

But the next morning, when Kieselhorst woke up, his truck was gone.

Man, I'd be so off if this happened to me. How do you renig on a signed contract and get away with it?

Does this mean that if I paid too much I can take the car back tomorrow and get a refund?

He paid cash for the truck. A contract doesn't mean . It was already his truck at that point.

F*** that. That's why I bought from Carmax. They give you 30 days to bring it back if you're not happy.

I knew a guy several years ago that bought a new truck that had major aftermarket stuff done. ground effects etc. well he got a GREAT deal so he bought it. bout a week later the dealer called and wanted to re-do the deal as the salesman didn't realize the truck had been sent out for the aftermarket stuff. They wanted like 8-10K also. he told them to get bent.
He had already singed and they were paid. too bad so sad.

go get a lawyer! (says the law student)
but yeah if he still has the keys I'd recommend he go back at night and get his truck and start parking it in the garage.

heh, I had something like that happen to me at Friendly Ford in Crosby once, only it was a wholesale deal, I picked up a truck and resold it, four months go by, they call me up and say they need it back. I said "What are you talking about?" They said the financing fell through on the deal and they needed the truck back. So they had been letting someone drive for MONTHS in a brand new truck, run up all kinds of miles and they were never even approved to buy the thing.

When they say "i have to run it by my manager" it isn't really a stall tactic, they can't breathe without the managers permission.

I honestly don't know if it's legal or not, but I can certainly say it's not ethical. Whats done is done and if they let it go out the door for x amount of dollars then they are stuck to that contract... because if the tables were turned and they found out they OVERcharged ten grand... do y ou think they'd bring a check out to your house? Nope.

Yeah me too, and the dealership is double-screwed if they processed the title already.
