whats strange about that? its been regeared. my bikes at redline in 5th in the 1/4. i know of several 1000s, busas, and zx14s that are geared for all 6 gears in the 1/4.

stock busas barely hit 3rd going thru the traps.
i think all that shiftings gotta hurt times

yeah, when they are stock they are geared really tall, we regear them to get as much acceleration out of them as we can, when you have a properly adjusted airshifter with an autoshift box, the regear more than makes up for any time lost shifting(which is lightning fast with the airshifter)

plus they are easier to launch regeared, which leads to good 60 and 330 ft times, which the whole pass depends on.

Depending on gearing I may trap in the bottom of 5th or the middle of 6th. Gear changes happen in 40 ms. with help from the air shifter

I think I used to trap in 6 on my friends 600 but cant remember. The 750 is at the limiter in 5th through the traps

Not bad, and a 1k usually runs in the high 9's correct? This is all straight line talk, but what about road courses? Is there still a large time gap between the 2 sizes? I'm assuming yes. Maybe even dependent on the course?..

1k will do it in low 10s high 9s. Lap times on a road course depends on the track. I've the same rider post quicker times on his 600 than on his same model 1K
