Houston->three sisters and back over 1 weekend (plus a bunch of riding there!)
Houston->Fort worth and back the next day.

Stock SV650S which has a sporty seating position though probably not as bad as most SS bikes. The stock seat is murder on your . Definitly stock up on ibuprofen..

Not really that far but by the end of each ride I couldnt do more than about 40 minutes before I had to get off and do the monkey dance to get blood flowing again. Corbin seat is like $300 though..

So what would be the most comfortable sport bike to take on a road trip? SV650/1K with an aftermarket seat? What about the other sport tourers?

I've done right at 500 miles on a ride. That's about as far as I want to ride in a single day on my bike.

a friend i ride with a lot has a sv650 with a corbin, he swears by it. the riding position is completely different than ss. personally i felt like i was "in" the bike versus "on" it.

then again i ride a z1000 everyday, so im pretty accustomed to a really different position to begin with.

I rode my (dual) sport KLR to Big Bend/Mazatlan/Baja/LA/Vegas but it's a tiny bit more comfortable than a sport bike.

You are correct. Oops. Punctuation is important. For example "I helped my Uncle jack off a horse" as opposed to "I helped my Uncle Jack off a horse". Two very different things.

I totaled my 14 last year and have been trying to decide what to replace it with. I really want a sportbike but at 44 and liking roadtrips thinking hard about the vfr. It is really hard to get real excited about an older/older looking sport tourer,BUT........It is sooooo comfortable, not slow, handles well, good 2up and it is a HONDA. In other words I agree
