I've heard that you use the 07 subframe on an 07 bike. If you do the 08 subframe then supposedly you need an 08 tank also.. but you do have to trim the side fairings on the tail to fit right on an 07 with an 07 subframe.. Thats from someone who claims to have done a few of the swaps

Edit and you need the other things he mention above..

06-07 K6 k7 front end looks so much more sexy then the k10's!!!! but u will need k10 subframe all new front fraings, side fairing rear faings and a headlight harness

cheap way would be get ebay fairings for a k10($500) buy a head light used ($150ish) rear sub frame ($150ish) and a headlight harness ($25-$50)

your looking at $800-$900 to do the job

U dont need the 08 subframe.. and if you read my post above you have to use the 08 tank with an 08 subframe.. Im not trying to argue. Im just trying to get it all straight and not jumble up what everyone said. Who know. Ill prob end up doing the swap myself. So I will see what does and doesnt work

Sell the early model, buy a late model. Focus on making money or having fun with the free time you saved by not butchering your 07.

Kinda like, how do you get your girlfriend to lose 50 lbs?

You don't. You just kick her to the curb, let the next guy deal with that , and get a fresh new girl.

Now wife, that's a whole different story. But you're probably not married to that bike.

Ok I retract my previous statement. U do need the 08 subframe to make the tail fit. The 07 subframe is 100% different and the tail will not bolt up or line up at all

so here is a parts list

08+ fairings w/tail
08+ subframe
08+ pass seat/cowling
08+ ram air tubes

The 06/07 and 08+ faring stay is identicle and bolts up perfectly leaving only a small rewire job to make the headlight work as design (2 high beams instead of 1)

I did a write up on this but prob wont end up posting it till Im finished..

You get a head start and don't let her gain the 50. If she is already that much over you should have not returned her call the next day. Thats assuming the beer goggles hid the extra weight. Im on my wife's every day to drop 10-15lbs. She is getting close to 130.
