CHAIN QUESTION!

Hey guys,

Well today i was lubing up my chain I noticed it was a little lose; well I moved the rear tire a little bit back to tighten the chain up. When I did, I checked it and I was rotating the rear wheel and when I got to a section on the chain it was really hard! It felt like the chain was stuck; I kept moving the wheel and it will past but when it reach that same section of the chain on the rear sprocket it gets really hard and pops too. What could it be!? Do i need a new chain?

while we are on this topic.. what are other sings of a bad chain.. all the signs would be awsome... like if a chain has 30k on it and still looks and works well. why should someone change it? beause of the miles on it?????

30k is way too many. Its like the timing belt on a DOHC car. When it goes its bad. Running a chain to failure will cost you way more the replacing it when needed. There is a also a risk of eating it when the rear locks up.
