Help me get new skins on the Gixxer....

2005 GSXR 600 with original tires. I am a new rider with traction as my biggest concern.

Help me pick out a "best bang for the buck" set.

As a new rider, you're not going to find the limit of any tire unless you really up. I'd go for long lasting inexpensive tires. My Bridgestone bt021's have been working fine. The new bt023 is their replacement. Trust your tires but learn to be smooth.

BT016, Pilot Powers, or Q2's. These tires give me the most confidence.

I have the BT016s on one of the bikes, and just replaced another set with Power Pure's; those are sweet!

But I am sure there are certainly cheaper options.

Of you are a new rider, pretty much any sport bike tire from the big tire manufacturers will do.

Dont get anything fancy cause you will end up like so many with an expensive tire with a big flat center section and brand new sides. I see it all the time.

I always see guys that go get some expensive Pirellis and just waste them.

Your skill level will not be pushing the limits of the tires or suspension for a while.
