I wave generaly but don't wave to shorts, no helmet goob's.

I will actually pass them shaking my head....

There is a dude that rides a KLR from Friendswood to Clearlake,
must work at the hospital or Dr. office or something because all he
EVER WEARS is scrubs, slip on boat shoes and a back pack...

He has big arms so I assume he works out, you'd think anyone that
was that conscience of their body to physicaly spend time at a gym would
also want to protect is a little bit...

And I wave to the PD when I see them looking at me even when they are in a car.

I always wave to kids on the side of the road or on bikes.

I wave to people in their yards who look up.

I wave to Harley riders....(though they almost never wave back...)

I wave to everyone on a bike, I have noticed harley riders dont wave back and I have came to the conclusion its because their arms are sore from pulling out their wallets at the dealership

I figure if you don't wave at another rider due to their choice of personal protection your a bigger douche than the Harley riders who don't wave.

I think someone else said this but I do this as well, I always wave at kids, old folks in their yards, anybody staring at me, cops if they pass me or are next to the bike, anyone on a bike or a 4 wheeler or anybody on the road that looks like they're having a good time like someone cruising in a classic car or a jeep full of chicks or something. Last week I was on 610 and waved at a guy and a chick on a sportbike with the fairing stripped off as he passed me 2 lanes over. 5 seconds later someone revved their engine right next to me and when I looked over it was them checking out my bike, they waved, I waved back, He revved his engine, I revved mine, then we both got on it and he left me like I was standing still of course cause I'm on the dinosaur but I was laughing and I'm sure they were too. Sometimes people don't wave back and sometimes cool like that happens.

+1, I normally wave to everyone whether they wave or not if I have a free hand. I don't care if they are a squid or what they are on. But I'm from the country where everyone waves also.

I have good luck with PD. They almost always wave back. There is one I pass on Atascocita Rd almost every day and he and I always wave.

Waving. Hmm...I don't initiate a wave if:

We're on the Interstate and I'm in heavy traffic.
I'm on the HOV and they are not in the opposing traffic's closest lane.
I'm on the HOV and any bike is on the main lanes and going the same way.
Or I'm on the HOV and daydreaming about carbon nano-tube ribbons or some such nonsense and didn't see them. Usually I feel like a and an idiot for not paying attention; especially when I just saw them wave before they were out of my vision.

I always respond to a wave (see previous caveat). If I need my hand on the clutch or bars I will nod or raise two fingers.

I stopped waving at the police bikes 'cause they just glare at me like I'm a freak of nature with my full gear and reflective vest. So I just nod, which has been returned on occasion.

I stopped caring if people are wearing gear, I just modified my wave to the arm down peace sign to signify "I hope you keep your rubber side down."
