So your Harley is just as much a rice burner as that you so abhor. Eat that!!

You've been punked!

That's it! I think I've already summed that up with what I've said so far. Not much more to say.

Dénouement.

The whole point of this is simple. If you bought a Harley-Davidson based solely on the fact that it was a Harley, you're an idiot. There are hundreds of better motorcycles out there. Motorcycles that run smoother, respond better, are more comfortable, and cost a of a lot less. Most people shop around for the best their money can buy. Not so with most H-D owners. They mistake their stupidity for pride. The next time you kick your leg over that bike of yours, whatever it may be, think about why you ride what you ride. If you bought it for the name on the emblem, the looks you're going to get, or to gain acceptance, you're not a biker, you're a small cow in a big dumb herd. Keep following the crowd, . The next time you're broke down on the side of the road, just remember how much fun it was to get there while you're wondering how your going to get back. I'll just try to contain my laughter when I stop to help you.

Red.
I bought a Harley because its the style of bike I wanted. I know its got yap forks on it, the carbs are on many yap bikes, in fact the jets can be bought cheaper at a yap bike store than hardley.
Although IMO, the sales of Harleys are a scam, the sales of the Harley BS is a scam, all the chrome is made in china while they charge american made prices for it, I still love my Harley.
but, if you can look through all the hoky TV persona and all the wannabes, you will see some people like myself that bought harleys because thats the bike we wanted. Not because it was cool "as seen on TV".
I wanted a Harley because I like them, I like its looks, I like its sound and I like having what most dont.
I could have afforded to go out and buy any bike, any type of bike within reason. I almost bought a buell instead, but I decided I wanted the 1200 Roadster, I looked and looked all over Texas and located one and made the deal I wanted and rode it home. Been happy with it ever since and real world, probably wont ever sell it, just keep buying other bikes as I get the urge. at present, I own a yamaha 600, a Suzuki 500 and the Harley 1250.

Why do I ride a Harley??

Honestly....after I took lessons, a guy that I knew was selling it. I had enough money to buy it. It was the right size (sort of). I wouldn't say that I looked around at all.

Having said that....I love my bike!! That doesn't mean that I don't like other kinds of bikes...but...I love MY bike!!

oh yeah, I do wear Harley t-shirts--when I can buy them drastically marked down!! I'm hoping that they'll make me kewl. :icon_bigg When you get old, you gotta do pretty much anything within your means to stay cool. <heavy sarcasm>

I bought a V-Rod because, IN MY OPINION it's the prettiest bike out there. I also fell in love with it after watching the Discover Channel's documentary "Birth of the V-Rod". I was in awe as to how technologically advanced it is (and, yes, it is) and how rigorously it was tested.

Well, when i was buying a bike i was looking for a certain style. I went everywhere, and when i found one i liked they would tell me that "this bike is suppose to look like the sportster" I got that line 3 times. So, I went to look at the sportster and decided to rent one. I rented an '03 then an '04. After riding the '04 i knew i found the right bike for me.

I liked how simple and unsophisticated it was, but it was still really beautiful to me. And the ride was smooth as glass with the rubber mounted engine.

I love my bike. I don't have any plans of replacing it.

Also, the only reason my bike has ever been in the shop is for scheduled maintenance, and once for getting the front master cylinder rebuilt. I don't think that is too bad for 2.5 years and 9k miles.
