Boots (i like walking)

So I need to get a good pair of riding boots with good protection. As (some of you) know my pockets are getting a little thin after everything I've bought over the past few weeks so it needs to be a budget. I'm going to keep an eye on forums and craigslist for some used boots but the size range is a little bigger than jackets so its hard to find exactly what I want.

That being said, what are some good, popular boots that will keep my footsies safe in the event of being run over by a cager?

as stated above... limited budget, so looking to purchase some previously owned ones as opposed to new ones. Just looking for some ideas on what to purchase or if new ones fit the budget I may get those.

i suggest looking for whatever's in your price range and doing research on that product.

I have icon street boots (looks like its more for a cruiser) but its pretty comfy even when standing/walking for long periods of time. But here is no way anyone can pull the boots off my feet.

Yeah was hoping someone have different information, I've already done a lot of that and the only boot I can find that gets good reviews and is even close to my price range is alpinestars sm-x 5 which are still over 200$. I'm gunna be hard pressed to spend that much on boots after everything else.

Ya I think I am going to have to just watchin craigslist and like a hawk and try to pick up some alpinestars or sidi's used. I just absolutley cannot afford those things new.

yea dude just do a little homework and find some boots that you would be ok with,
that way when you come across something you will know if its a deal or not.
my buddy picked up some of the A* boots as mentioned above for a steal at like 180-bucks or something.
im in the same boat, fundage, dictates my purchaces.
so for now its just the steeltoe docs...better than my pumas

those look pretty awesome for 50 bucks. My sidi's were 300 and the only real BIG difference I see is that you have no plastic on the back of your leg. But what are the chances, and I'm sure when you get some more money, you'll go get an all-out boot.

From the pictures they are pretty immaculate. But after further review I'm not sure they are going to offer the protection I want in the event of an accident.

I would say that would protect you better than whatever you have right now...

EDIT:
if you end up not getting it, pm me the link if its size 10.5 or close to it.

Don't know if they are the same boots or not, but there was a big problem with some of the walmart boots (especially brahma) not too long ago. Something about the sweat in your feet reacting to some weird chemical they put on the boots. A few people have had really nasty reactions to... Google it. Can't remember where it was, but I know I saw it on the news.. Just a heads up....

i just got these delivered today, havent had time to wear them in but they're cheap and offer decent protection.

If youre looking for any more protection than that your price range is going up. Icon has some real comfortable boots with good protection, steel shank in half the foot but the ankle stays flexible so its easy to walk in.

i'm on my 2nd pair. wear them constantly, no problem.
with $125 doc martens the dye would bleed on my socks. had a pair that separated in the sole where they were put together. ironic, some made in china duds would last longer that boots costing 4x
