My Guatemala Photos

A couple of you guys asked to see the photos from my mission trip to Guatemala. Here is the link:

http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/...92&uid=4349277

If you want the extra captions, don't use the slideshow mode--click from photo to photo manually.

When I was putting this together, I realized that I didn't get any photos of the million motorcycles that I saw in Antigua. Everyone rides a scooter or a bike--even ladies with dresses!!

Hope you enjoy the photos!!

okay, i'm checking these out and it looks like someone needs to pick up some of that mess. I think i'm going to have to go down there and talk to them. it would be so much prettier if it were cleaned up.

Nice pictures!

Btw, Kate is hot

How old is your son?? My older son is on a mission trip in downtown Denver working with homeless people. He's 18 and it's his 7th mission trip. I think they really impact kids. The youngest kid on my Guatemala trip was 13.

He will be 11 in Oct! I want to help build him into a caring and compassionate person! He is well on his way and a missions trip would help do that!

My sont went on his first mission trip after 6th grade. They went to Reynosa Mexico to build houses. When he came back I said something like: "So, did you put up the frame of the house and then have to wait for the plumbers and electritions to do their thing??" He looked at me and said, "Mom!! If they're having middle school children build their house, do you REALLY think they HAVE electricity???" Good point....

Since then, I've been on that same trip with the 6th and 7th graders 3 times. It's really eye opening to them that kids can be happy without gameboys and Xboxes!!!

That was a blast to teach.

These were primarily Mayan kids with various disabilities, however, it was amazing how similar they were to my own students.
