I can finally say I scrapped knee...on I-10 shoulder barrier! It's a new technique I call Perpendicular Leaning. Triangulate!

The food, sir, was quite deelish and well worth today's close call I wouldn't ride 45 minutes in rain, pay tolls and risk riding in Bellaire/SW if it wasn't deewish

I think you just scared yourself and stood up the bike. It happens. You need to get that big body to the track

That is possible. I am still thinking about it because I have taken that exit a few times before at even faster speeds...but something just didn't feel right and I do not know what it was that happened. Like I said, it could have been oil or tires starting to lose grip...or maybe I gathered debris from the construction zone? Who knows. The road was dry though, so it wasn't a slick flooring.

I will do track but I have to find the time first! Normally I am out of town for 2-3 weeks straight and then come home for only 1-2 days and then go back out. This is the 1st time since last year (I think) that I have been off for more than a week. Hopefully work starts to slow down a bit and I can take time off to do what I intended on doing since I started riding: track.

I notice you have what looks like one of the carbon Joe Rocket/HJC helmets, how do you like? Is there a lot of wind noise? I have an ex500 and it is very noisy, great other wise, I have been thinking about upgrading to something better though.

My underwear needed changing from after Banana Leaf's Roti Canai that induces flatulacy!

Yeah tell me about it. There's something not right about being on the edge of a shoulder and staring below the overpass! That was one of the most frightening things I have experienced to date! I really thought I was going to go over...

I don't think it will phase me but it's a good reminder and I probably needed one anyway.

Sounds like you are familiar with The Deelish I tend to like one dish at all of my favorite restaurants. For Banana Leaf, it's the beef rendang (curry beef) with roti canai (roti with curry sauce) and either thai tea or preferrably watermelon drink...especially after a long, hot ride Others have tried other dishes and they look ok but I am there for the curry!

It's my 1st and only helmet at this time so I have nothing to really compare it to. More than anything else, it's just bling. Second, it's light. Beyond that, there isn't much great or bad to say about it...it does have a lot of wind noise imo, but again, I have nothing to compare it to. Very comfortable too I might add. All I care about is how well it will perform if and when I go down.

My next helmet will be a better quality Shoei or something comparable whenever a nice sale goes on for 2010 helmets, maybe the end of the year. I am not a fan of the bright/crazy color schemes on some of the helmets though...just plain black for me.

My 2nd choice would have been the blue carbon fiber RKT100, which is good looking in the sun...but it wouldn't flow with any other gear I own or my bike.

Definitely nice save.

I might have not put the bike straight up though. Best grip theoretically is the side of the tires... hopefully it would have gripped or you would have lowsided. IMO lowsiding would have been the option if you weren't able to do what you did.

But I'm no expert. I have felt the bike slip while leaned and regained traction.

A few weeks ago I entered a corner that I am familiar with to go onto the freeway and took it too hot and ran wide and almost hit the guard rail. I seriously gasped out loud in my helmet.

I eased off the gas and kept leaning and luckily I was spared from going down.
