It IS legal in CA. If we had HOV lanes like that and drivers that respected the solid stripe I'd do that all day long.

I finished my MSF this last saturday. My instructor mentioned that Cali had a very large campaign to notify all Californians that lane splitting was legal with certain stipulations. It's been legal ever since, so drivers are well aware of it and are more cautious.

I figure if it's legal in Houston which would be nice with many stipulations. However, I still wouldn't split lanes if it was legal or not because no one here in Texas would get used to the new law and still hit you. It wouldn't be safe until many years afterwards when drivers become more accustomed to it. Also, drivers here like to drive big giant vehicles in which you can clearly fit underneath without effort. I sure as don't want to be riding underneath someone's F-250.

There ARE restrictions in the law though, such as speed. Don't think just because lane splitting is legal you can do 60 mph b/t cars stuck in traffic on a 70MPH highway.

congrats on YOU been a monkey

first off there are a lot of reasons why i stayed on the left lane other then PASSING like i said before....
if a car is coming 20+ mph faster then me, then i'm going to keep my on my lane so he can pass me with out me getting on his way....if i move to the right for trying to get out of his way i could easily get run over if the guys was trying to just get in and out of traffic. its a 50/50 deal here.

if i saw him a mile down the road coming then i would had move like i always do...but i didnt see him till he was on my at the last minute.

so....if i understand the way you fell about the for going 20+ mph faster then everyone....YOU want everyone to move out of your way for hauling on the streets and putting everyone in dangerous for YOU been stupid.

same way..if i was on my bike, im going to try to stay away from all cars that im passing and try not to fly by them going 30+ mph faster then they are.... keep everyone out of your way if you're going to be stupid.

we exit and smashed his window and flat his tires.....he got very lucky thats all we did to his car...

PASSING CARS......^^^^
Although logic and grammar seem to be lost on you I will attempt to enlighten you to the safe manner in which a person may avoid the scenario you describe.

Assumptions:
1) Going slightly faster than average traffic speed.
2) In the far left lane.
3) You are stupidly ignorant of traffic in your rear view mirrors until said vehicle is teal gating you (I don't know how the color applies in this case as I was under the, apparently, mistaken impression that it was "tail gating" refering to the tail gate of pickups)

Steps to take:
1) turn on indicator to let said teal gater know of your intentions to vacate the real estate that he/she so obviously desires.
2) As soon as you have barely cleared the car immediately adjacent to you GET THE OUT OF HIS WAY!

Problem solved. If you wait even a smidgen of a second after clearing the bumper of the car to your right then your stated, formerly erroneous, assumption becomes valid, but you have made yourself an ipediment to the forward progress of this egregious lawbraker. If you had let him by he would be in front of you (Heaven forbid!) to pull the Po-Po's almighty powers/wrath down upon himself and not you. Well done. Way to be a lazy and typical texas nitwit driver.

Have a nice day. This has been a public service announcement from your friendly neighborhood troll caretaker.

My friend. You do realise that this is actually an invite to say something. Double negatives are a logical positive. I recommend attending a nice community college and taking some introduction to english writing skills courses.

Did it seem like a suprisingly few numbers of cars where jumping lanes in the video. I was expecting to see someone do a quick lane change every time the brake lights lit up.
Also that traffic was not as bumper to bumper as Houston's seems to be.
