You will run into "that guy" most often on

1. gas station
2. College class
3. anywhere someone wants to be thought of as a badass (PP's, gyms, bars, and in front of a group of girls that dont know better.)
4. Pretty much anywhere that they use there superior intellect to piece the clues together that you own a bike and are therefor cooler than they could ever be.

I think I might have been "that guy" before I got my bike... I was never the bad "i used to own this or that. did this stunt or took it so fast i almost broke the sound barrier"... but I was the guy that got really excited and would say that the bike looks nice, looks quick , slick...What type is it? sometimes I would try to guess what type or year it was (but thats cuz I was trying to quiz myself on what I knew so far) Most of the time being wrong....

Some of these guys sound like ppl that are just enthuziastic about bikes just dont own or have the means to own one... no need to be a jerk to some of them... No one was ever a jerk to me openly but then again they might of made fun of me when I left ... But I do understand that some are just stupid fools that want to sound like a BA...

anyways, i dunno where i was going with this....

Oh yeah.... You guys are meany heads!

Most of the time it's easy to see who is just enthusiastic about bikes and don't know much about them and who's just blowing a load of smoke up your to try and sound cool. That's the big difference here. Even then, there are still the guys with the bikes that don't know what they are talking about and still pop off some insane story to try and sound cool.

I know...

like this one time I was going down the freeway and was going so fast like almost 200mph on my CBR.. Traffic slowed down ahead but i was going too fast, I had two options, either do an endo and try to stop, or go under one of the 18 wheelers that were next to me... I went under the 18 wheeler and was able to avoid a collision... heavy situation man.....

did i also mention i had to do all this before the train got there, and picked up some air just in time?? cuz that happened too...

I met "that guy" a few years ago, and it turned out to be one of my friends I hadn't seen in a long time. I rolled up to a car meet and he walks up to me and starts talking saying he ran from the cops one day down 249 on his R6 doing 180, he said he was keeping up with his friend on an R1. I called BS on him and he just kept insisting that he was right and I was wrong because I didn't have an R6 so I wouldn't know

New line.

Perhaps you should change your settings back to MPH instead of kilometers and stop lying to your girl.

180 kph is only a little over 100 mph... like 108 or something (sorry its been awhile since I have had to deal with the metric system)

EDIT: 180 kph = 111.8 mph... so I was close enough.

Ran into that "motorcycle guy" again today.

I ran over to the hobby shop to grab a new tail boom for the helicopter I wrecked, ( see my for sale ad in misc).

Anyways the guy in front of me is talking to the checkout guy about his buddy that has a towing service in Sugarland.

He pops off with, "yeah they just nabbed a guy doing 210 down 90 on his Gixxer 750, I can buy the bike from the tow yard this week for 1100 bucks". "I think I am gonna go ahead and drop the cash on it".

I sat back just shaking my head.

I meet that guy at least once a week at school. Mostly they tell me they like my Ducati. I just say thanks.

Then there's always that one guy who asks IF I ride a bike when I'm wearing a Teknic Violator leather jacket, SIDI race boots, jeans, and my hair in braids. I always tell him no - I think I look really cool like this.

Once (just last week) I told they guy I just liked the style, and after a few seconds, he said, "No, you're lying. You ride. I know you're lying." Very seriously.
