when i had my bike it had mirrors but i prefered to glance behind me at my blind spots.

i would watch traffic coming up if i were at a stop light for fear of getting hit from behind

I usd to ride without mirrors a when I was a lot younger. I don't really recommend it.
The one thing you should remember is that the split second you have to turn your head to look back at a car is a split second you are not looking where you are going. Typically not good.

when i bought the bike it didn't have mirrors so i rode it a few months without mirrors. It was so annoying cuz it always felt like a cop was behind me and i couldn't tell without taking my eyes off the road in front of me to look behind me. I finally got some mirrors after the seller ignored my PM's and IM's to get the old mirrors... definitely not what i wanted to spend my money on but o well. Definitely nice to have mirrors on the street. Saved my the other day when i saw in my mirror that a lady was coming up EXTREMELY fast on my talking on the phone...
