Thumbs up Katy Area Ride to ASI/PP1 09/15

Let's try again this week to get some Katy area riders to meet up and head to PP1, ASI(if going on) or wherever else the group decides.

There is gonna be a poll on where you guys want to meet. Hooters, Wild Wings Cafe, Coaches, Sam's Club (hwy6 and I-10 not the Fry rd one) We can eat or chill at brother's pizza too, since it's in the same parking lot.

I've had a few people tell me they're down so hope to see you on the list.

Meet at 8:00pm at the place with the most votes!

So the place to meet (by mojority vote) is Brother's Pizza in the same parking lot as Sam's Club off HWY 6 & I-10. Whoever wants to eat will eat and then we will ride to PP1

Come on Katy Riders Lets Go!

5. Balls2daWall+1
6. Stilleto+ maybe 1 or 2

Wild Wings Cafe - Nice place to meet and good food
Hooters - Motorcycle parking and eye candy
Coache's - GHETTO
Sam's Club on hwy6 & I-10 - If you are eating should meet at Brother's Pizza.

We have a group that meets every Wed off Westheimer / Fountain View. We will eat around there and hit the loop follow by ASI. Just look for the HG Crew.

I know!!! I have been at PP1 from mid 2005 and before PP1 it was JCI and never an issue!! The only issue issue was when HPD storm the place (JCI) and fun was over. I have been late at night at PP1 and have never see anything bad going on.

Hey I am trying to let them know the facts!

At least 5 people got their bikes stolen the same night they went to PP1.

Idk if its in a coincidence but I wouldn't go if I were you.

They got mugged or what?? How that happened?? I'm not really worry about that besides don't think crooks will be interested in my bike (too old and not a sport bike)

I always enjoy motorcycle gatherings and if some people got their bikes stolen sorry for them but that's not going to stop me going and have some fun and do some "posing"..so let's go man!!!

They went to bed and the bike is missing out of their garage the next morning. Some of them lived in apts and they got taken out of the parking lot.

Apts??? That's their first mistake there... Garage? well, it happens...Just make sure you have theft insurance, thefts are gonna happen. It's not like where we meet are huge secrets to the outside world or thieves... Most of the time when you are a victim of theft, ends up being someone you know or have met anyways. Just be vigilant. anyways....... thats not what this thread is about...

Come on Katy we need more ppl

thief's..!!!

Anyway, here are some tips (they teach you some of this at CHL training)

1- Always increase safety awareness and you are less likely to put yourself in a situation of danger in the first place. Prevention is always better than cure!

2 - Trust your instincts, if something appears wrong then it probably is. Don't just hear your Gut Feeling but act on it too by taking evasive action if necessary.

3 - Avoidance should be your first goal but if for some reason this has failed you then your next option should be escape. Avoidance is very much controlled by your alertness which can be enhanced by increasing your Self Defense knowledge through reading and research.
Fighting should be a last resort but once you have made that decision, there is no holding back.

4 - Be Aware of your Surroundings - You will require different level of alertness depending on where you are but generally when you are out and about, stay switched on, be aware of anything that is a little out of the ordinary. Try not to get trapped in your own little bubble and be aware that there are people outside of your world.
When you visit new areas, be aware of possible exits or even objects around that could be used in your defense. Keep your eyes and ears open to anything that seems a little unusual. Generally step up and increase safety awareness.

Whether we like it or not, there are people out there whose intentions are not always good. Maybe you'll never come across people like that but then again maybe you will or maybe you already have. It could be in the workplace, in the home, on the street, in a bar or even on the road, it really could be anywhere. Don't switch off, that's just the type of people that crooks look for.

WAY TO GO OFF-TOPIC!!!!! Sorry about my rant.

I'm myself always in point number four "Be Aware of your Surroundings"

At public places, I always try to sit with my back to the wall and within point of sight of the main entrance door, take mental note of the emergency, back and side exits/doors.

If you are in your SS bike or driving a fancy car always check if someone is following you!! If that's the case go the closest public place like a gas station or corner store.

I was born and raised in Mexico City, one of the most violent places in the world, they try to kidnap me two times, 3 cars stolen (two at gun point), two times mugged at knife point, my brother and parents that still live there have gone trough the same. So I'm not really worry about PP1. I ride a lot at night all over Houston and whn approaching home I always check if someone is following me. if in doubt always chain you bike even inside the garage. If you are in an apartment place arrange for storage!!

..what a long rant!!!

ya. I have the custom II with the rail on it and I LOVE it. You can get your feed ramp polished by an armorer and you'll be able to use hollow points without a problem
