An 08' ninja 250 and my truck were just about an even match to 80MPH, with the Ninja having a 20 foot jump on me in first gear. My truck runs about 7.6 seconds to 60MPH, so the lil ninja is faster than your average cage.

My 2002 250 was never at a loss for power, even on the highway. With stunt bars and stock motor it pulled the ton (100) on my GPS.

On the 08' it was a dead even race with my DRZ 400 SM, with a little more top end above 80 or so at TWS (Texas World Speedway).

Oh yeah, I'd get a WR250X or a DRZ400SM over a 250 for commuting if fun is part of the equation. If it's all about riding 70 MPH highway, then a faired bike is the way to go. My DRZ gets maybe 45MPG in mixed riding, probably 10 MPG less than a ninjette

That's because yours is geared for the track and mine for the street. Ride mine sometime and you will see the difference.
