the opinion in this post is coming from a guy who took his daughter on a few small rides in town when she was 3. oh yeah, she sat behind me.

this guy is seriously wrong. killboy camps out on the dragon, right? wtf is this guy doing riding the dragon with a toddler holding onto his handlebars? holy ! i hope the dude made it home safe, and i hope he chooses more wisely on how to bond with the kiddos. 'hey jr hop on the bike, lets go down to the corner store so i can buy my hardcore mags' is much better than 'who wants to go on a dragon run?'

also, why cant his kid get a good full face helmet?
I'd bet big money, the helmet is so big it would be useless if needed.
I am against the toddler thing, I am not against a young child riding, as long as the gear is appropriate within reason.

he's a for the most obvious of reasons. people without common sense won't understand this, and some moron will undoubtedly chime in about the cops and how expensive tickets are and that's why he ran with a kid on the tank.

He is an idiot. Too bad he had to get a licence to ride the bike but not to procreate.

I rode like that as a kid on more than one occasion due to being the only means of transportation. At that age (my daughter is 3) I can see preferring to be in front vs behind as the kid can't not be trusted to hang on and not get extracted.

With that said, I would not put my kid on my bike like that. Riding the dragon is not a mandatory trip and I disapprove. My kid will be in full gear and will be big enough to hang on sitting behind me before I even consider riding with me. And thats if I ever trust myself enough to put their life in my hands.

Its amazing the moral decisions we make differently than the decisions our parents made as we were kids that are considered being a bad parent today. Chris made a thread about that. We are very quick to judge (myself included) on things that were no big deal when we were kids.

Lean angle (and posture) says otherwise.

Depends also on what we consider "slow" in this example. I say he is going between 35 to 45 mph. So I will choose "moderate" speed.

out of the 3 kids (Ive taken them all out on the bike) the 2 oldest (9 and 10) ride INFRONT because even tho they MIGHT can be trusted to hold on, I dont feel comfortable with it. Id much rather ME be uncomfortable then them fall off. Ill even cover the controls and let the 10yr old control the gas at times.
