I saw the funniest thing today (police sting)

I-10 East, by Uvalde....a dodge pick-up sitting right in the weeds directly off the feeder road with the hazards on.

you say so what scooter, seen tons of broken down dodges.......I say this one had some 22" chrome rims with tires mounted just sitting in the bed. and when we were driving past, there was a new model chevy impala loaded down with rims sticking out of the trunk and pulling away. I didnt really pay attention and my buddy said "Look, thats a police sting!" I look in the rearview to see , sure enough, police cars were swarming to head off the Impala.
we did a u turn (5 minutes or less) and saw that they had the impalas occupants in cuffs down the road away from the truck in the academy parking lot out of sight and the dodge truck loaded with 6 or 8 big assed rims ready for the next theif to happen upon.

I took a few pictures with teh camera phone of the truck loaded and ready and then of the guys all cuffed up.
Looks like they had 4 or 5 cars from previous busts and were adding a nice new impala to their collection.

you would think this would be an obvious set up, but I guess people are dumb enough to fall for it still.:laughing6 :laughing6 :laughing6 :laughing6

good job coppers, keep up the good work

Yep thats good 'ol 9C40's beat. They have been using that truck for a while and someone always falls for it. IIRC they used to have one 22 inch rim, a battery charger, and a weed eater inside of the bed. Too bad there are some undercovers in an unmarked car videotaping them as soom as they take something out of the bed of the truck.

I have picts to prove I was there maaaaaang. and I also have a drug screen from yesterday to prove my mind is free from altering chemicals, unlike yers'
I do wish I had my scanner though, it would have been fun to listen to on this.
I did drive by and try and see where the spotter was hiding and couldn't locate him. I know it was watched from somewhere, but I couldnt find 'em on the quick passby I did.
