Track Bikes on the street...

So I got bored and put the street fairings back on my track bike and took it for a spin today

Holy the suspension is tight as on that thing!! I dont think I can have kids cuz I racked my so many times I swear when I hit a bump the rear tire would completely come off the ground

It was fun getting that on the street though....

My bike is really stiff, I was told my rear comes up 3-4 inches on hard bumps, kinda scary but if I was never told, I would've never known

I'm a mega noob when it comes to racing/ track bikes...

so what's the top 2 or 3 difference in say a $12k 1,000cc supersport, and a track bike?

different suspension set up, lighter weight, no mirrors/ blinkers?

Tires are profiled A LOT more aggressively for one. Try turning and your bike just dives into the turn. Like stated above, the suspension has to be set up a lot stiffer and the gearing is also different than stock, a lot more get up and go. Power commanders, quick shifters, rear sets a lot higher and farther back.

Pretty much when I get on my track bike, I feel like I am going to tip over. I ride a stock f4i on the street that feels more like a cruiser.

Yesterday, I trucked the ZX6 out to GSS. During lunch, I rode it home and rode back on the SuperDuke (I wanted to give 'er a go on the track).

eltejano, thx. so maybe like riding a formula 1 car on the streets, very rough ride and it feels like its out of it's element on anything but a smooth road.

I'll be out to GSS eventually. im lightyears away from the big boy bikes, but i'll get there!

Find all the smooth roads... I've always found that some roads you can ride like the track, some roads you just can't.

Get the 500 out to GSS. Its a perfect track for that bike, just get Patrick to set up the suspension as best he can. See if you enjoy your first hit on the track pipe.

My first 4 track days were on a ZX14 Not exactly a track worthy bike but I got that pig around the track pretty good....

+1 on the getting out to GSS anyway...I dunno is your suspension is even adjustable but you shouldnt have any issues for your first time out there on a stock 500r setup

If I remember correctly your about my size or a tad smaller....I have a 2pc tecknic chicane suit with your name all over it
