Cops will stop you for speeding... but that's anywhere.

Remember on backroads they'll hear you coming long before you see them.

that's a good point. I don't need to speed in the straights, but are the twisties tight enough that I don't need to speed much?

Im on a 250 that tops out at 105 w me in full gear and many that ride w us wont keep up until we hit straights.

Dont get me wrong, there are many more that are experienced riders that'll pass me and keep going.

Purposely in the straights the FGs dont speed because

1) no reason
2) dont want tickets being caught riding in straights fast vs corners
3) slowing down in straights helps keep the individual groups together.

I went out there with last Saturday and hardly saw a single cop. We started that way about 8:00 AM though.

It is a holiday weekend but I guarantee they are spending more time right now patrolling at night for drunk drivers than they are back roads in the early morning.

I can't make it tomorrow. Family coming over for BBQ. Have fun and be safe.

The LEO's are going to be more concerned with the major highways but, you should always be cautious and maintain a good speed limit. No need in getting a ticket and ruining your weekend.
Just make sure your bike is in good operational condition, you have up to date tags, inspection, and insurance. Be aware of your surroundings, ride your own ride, don't ride above your limits, and leave your egos at home.

As always: Know your bike, know your limits.

I think there is going to be a lot of traffic and popo out this weekend. It's more about hanging out with everyone then having a spirited ride. I'll help out with some of the new riders if needed.

I just noticed my tag expired 4 days ago (end of August). What am I risking if I ride like that?

Your choice.

Our recommendation is for the smoothest situation.

I know some are coming that dont have their endorsement etc. Its the individual's responsibility.

Tag, they can get ya.
Inspection, I think you have 14 days.
Can anyone correct me?

My inspection just expired, went to 2 places that don't do bikes and the one i always go to is closed on weekends.

If you're humble and polite to the cops usually they understand those things. If your an azz, loud etc they will be willing to stick you. Besides, inspection is a 10 dollar fix a ticket.

I get PMs directly to my phone, otherwise I'll try to remember to check the phone while Im out tonight.

If there's any questions ask otherwise see everyone at 9 tomorrow
