2001 SV 650 (my track ), 2005 SV 650s

SV1000 track bike? Opinions?

So ... does the 1000 make a good track bike? Lots of 650, but I don't see many 1000s at the tracks.

It seems it is not a competitive race bike for HWT. For a track bike, it will be good to go with a few tweaks.

Make a good tracbike? Yes. Especially with a gixxer front end

Make a good racebike? No. They just aren't competitive in any class they're legal to run in.
A motorcycle is a joy machine. It's a machine of wonders, a metal bird, a motorized prosthetic. It's light and dark and shiny and dirty and warm and cold lapping over each other; it's a conduit of grace, it's a catalyst for bonding the gritty and the holy.

I have a SV1000 for track days and its fun but the truth has been spoken it is just not competitive in the HWT class against the ducs. If you really want a great opinion Patrick at Motorcycles Unlimited raced a SV1000 I beleive, I have talked to him about it
I always wonder why I do the things I do, and honestly I dont know so dont ask

Great track bike. As mentioned above, a lack-luster race bike, just not enough bawls. The other HWT class bikes kill it.

GSXR front end with nameyourbrand shock make it a great handling bike that is fun to ride at track days and won't get killed by the random 600 like the SV650 will.
I am Tyler Durdin's bad attitude.
