Happy with 5 Up!!..

Just recently went 5 up on rear sprocket and WOW! what a difference! I've been on the bike for over 8 years and have had a Q/A kit before but not like this! Lucky for me the gear ratio change has turned my Tachometer into the speedometer in 6th gear, if I'm doing 4,500 rpm then I'm doing 45 mph (which is pretty awesome until I have to do 70mph for more than 30 min.)

Is that a "MONOCLE SMILE" picture you responded with? I like the Old Spice commercials also, but that's taking it a bit too far isn't it?

Why go +5 instead of -1 and +2? is it just because its easier to only change one sprocket? Just laziness? cheaper? What?

its probably not even cheaper, -1f and +2r sprockets stay fairly close to the same price as stock.

, all you guys/gals are pretty funny. This could be a comedy forum. Okay, where to start.

"TomballD were you looking to make a wheelie monster? Hope you dont do a whole lot of freeway commuting or youre gonna get tired of it "

I rarely see 70 anymore (legaly) and don't have a freeway commute.

"bluewave18 +5 in the rear is about the same as -1 front +2 rear"

It is the same.

"MrT713 Why go +5 instead of -1 and +2? is it just because its easier to only change one sprocket? Just laziness? cheaper? What?"

I changed both sprockets and this was NOT a lazy job, front sprocket was seized onto the driveshaft because the jackass at the dealership did not put antiseize on the threads 5yrs ago when I changed them out last so the nut had to be cut off, and I had to wait a week to get a new one ($25). AND Taking a tip from someone who used to race, if you can avoid making the front sprocket smaller your chain will last longer, it's a simple fact about radius. It didn't cost any more or less. Actually I only paid 175 for the whole kit.

And AJFlo, It's a new chain.

I didn't know this forum was so full of Jokesters!
