I agree with this. However, few people have enough discipline or self-control/mental stability to be recreational users and not abusers.

Ever heard someone say "I've been doing _________ for ___ years and I'm not hooked".
So we should have laws for things that people do excessively? Maybe we should regulate seat time on motorcycles. Alot more people kill themselves on bikes instead of Marijuana, Heroin and Crack combined.

Cigarettes kill more people a year than all of the drugs combined. . .yet they're still legal? McDonalds, another HUGE health risk. some people just can't see the whole picture(and that is not directed to anyone specific!!). I guess we all do what we gotta do to get by in this world.

Agreed, craziest thing... but the FDA floats all kind of through to the public every day.

If you want to experiment with drugs justhead down to Walgreens. You can get all kinds of stuff there that has unpredictable long term affects and side affects.

It's not about what you're doing to yourself. Your freedom ends where mine begins.

Think of a country without drug laws. I know people who can barely pay their rent but shell out hundreds of dollars on [legal] cigarettes every month. Most people get addicted and people who are addicted eventually go broke <period>. It may be their freedom to do so but who ends up paying their medical bills or paying for their kids' lunches, etc.

I'm not preaching, but I've seen first hand how drug addiction ruins people's lives.

You make a good point but drug related crimes are not victimless crimes someone is getting hurt wether it be the user or their family or if the money goes back to terriorist or guerilla militants for weapons to kill that creates victims as well

We definetly need to review some of our traffic laws as well. If they would write more tickets to the people impeading the flow of traffic by cruizing in the passing lane it may make up for some of the other BS they write tickets for.
