That's not my argument. My argument was that marijuana is NOT safer than alcohol.

There have been fatality accidents as there have been with alcohol where marijuana was shown to be the contributor.
like i said, moderation is key. and studies show you would have to smoke roughly 900 joints in one sitting to poison yourself with THC. When was the last time you sae some jackass on the news going 100+ down the highway b/c he or she was high on THC? It happens daily with alcohol, yet it's still legal to drink!?!? you'll never explain that one to me. good 'ol America, where nothing makes sense anymore.

no need to argue over it, that is my opinion, not a proven fact. Why would our government compile statistics that show the effects of alcohol vs. THC? They don't want to make a fool of themselves, that's why. and for those that say marijuana is a "gateway" drug, that's BS!! alcohol is a gateway drug, it lowers your inhibitions to a point that you'll do a lot of stupid t, THC does not.

I don't have enough facts, one way or the other, to explain why marijuana is illegal and alcohol isn't. If EVERYONE could use either in moderation, there wouldn't be a problem.

You have my opinion as to why there are laws against drugs but, like seatbelts and helmets, I don't think there should be ANY law which takes the plave of common sense.

Just for the record, I neither drink, nor do drugs.

Just about everyone I know drinks, but are not alcoholics. Just about everyone I know smokes teh dope, but aren't stoners.

I do know a couple of alcoholics, but I don't 'know' any stoners.

I was really shocked at the number of people that smoked at the last place I worked. Corporate environment. The real shocker was wear they were getting it from. lol

IMHO.. as long as alcohol and tobacco are legal, marijuana should be legal.

The rest = banned!

My difinition of stoner is not just someone who smokes pots.. but someone who is the equivalent of an alcoholic.

Think of this... the best used form of encryption came from a couple of kids out of MIT that named it after a mythological 3 headed dog. Wonder what they were smoking?

"Recreational use and abuse are two totally different words."

I agree with this. However, few people have enough discipline or self-control/mental stability to be recreational users and not abusers.

Ever heard someone say "I've been doing _________ for ___ years and I'm not hooked".

THC speeds up the processes in the mind creating the illusion of things happening at a slower pace. It does not make you slow and dumb. Urban Myth
