Nice, but to look more like the rc31, the frame needs to be natural, not black. Still looks really cool.

Funny you brought up the Hawk GT, I thought the same thing. I miss mine (all three of them!).

Haha, i dont think my pockets are near deep enough. Beautiful bike right there though! That bike specifially, i can't even imagine how much money was dumped into that bike. Clip ons, rearsets, souped up big bore motor, carbon fiber seat cowl and the list keeps on going. There is one version of this bike that did come with clip ons but i'm certain they did not come with rear sets.

What's also cool is that i've heard certain parts off the NSR50 are interchangeable with the ZB50. Not very many. But you can.

Started making me a list of major parts i need in order to bring it back to it's former showroom glory. About 80% of the parts have been discontinued for some time now. So if you do come across a "NOS" part it's basically like finding gold. I have been searching and sourcing all over the internet trying to find certain items and lets just say it's proving to be quite challenging. I feel confident I can eventually get the all the parts i need but it may come down to waiting for someone to part one out. Since this is the rarest Honda motorcycle ever made and it's been said that there are only about 1,500 left in existance today, this will be a very rewarding project when it's all said and done.

This bike will be a real money pit (as if i needed another). the tank alone, if you can find one in good shape will set you back about $700. Just to give an idea to those who may not know much about these bikes.

Anyways, here is my parts list as of right now:

-Headlight and mounts
-Tail light and blinkers
-New seat cover (found on ebay)
-New footpeg bracket and foot pegs
-If i can find a new speedo assembly i need to grab it
-New tank. This one is useable with no rust. Just need a new non-dented up tank
-New throttle assembly (not necessary but could use a new one)
-Stator cover (the very back is cracked and has a small hole in it.
-possibly new set of forks. Upon closer inspection mine are slightly tweaked on one side. Looks like a previous owner may have run into something that didn't give way.
-New front and rear fender.

There are other little items here and there but nothing big. I've been able to source and find a good handful of little items i need brand new so that's a good starting point.

Other than that, the bike will be getting a fresh coating of paint in original colors from the frame up.

Bonded title im guessing? Getting that bike in your name is a good thing, especially if your going to sink so much money into it, hate to see you finish it up and the original owner somehow tracks it down and wants to take it back, That would suck bigtime

I'm filing for a lost title. I fill out a form and mail a check in for $2 and a copy of my ID and i will get a title in my name a few weeks later.

I'd do a low budget resto-mod on it.
Good thing about honda's are soo many of the parts are interchangeable.
You'll have that thing looking and riding sweet in no time.
I wouldn't do a full restore on it for the simple reason that I hate having anything that is too nice to ride / crash.
Anyways, congrats on the new project. Should be a fun one.

Thank you. You know, i've recently thought that exact same thing. I will still be riding the bike. Which means wheelies and i'd hate to spend soo much money on hard to find parts only to smash them up eventually. Let alone risk it. I will do a majority restoration though.

I've been lucky enough to finally get in contact with a company that makes replica gas tanks somewhere out of Europe or Germany or something like that. Cost is $164.00 US dollars and that included the locking gas gap, new locking ignition and a set of keys for all of that. That price also includes shipping. The tank comes in gloss black. That's not too bad at all for a brand spankin new piece. If you were to find a new old stock tank (somehow), it would run every bit of $700 so i can live with $164. I'll still fix up the current tank that's on there for a spare in the meantime.

I've also sourced out new front and rear fenders, some small rubber pieces i need, new stator cover and a few other little tidbits.

Since finding parts is the majority of the battle for this particular bike, i feel pretty good about it.
