Not all club members are or posers trying to fit in.
I'm not a patch wearing club member and don't ever expect it will be something I want to do...but to each his (or her) own. There's plenty of road for all of us.

The bandidos I've known wouldn't say some like that.

At the same time, I wouldn't flip 'em off either.

No I dont, many of my brothers and friends in other M/C's including Bandits also own sport bikes. We just ride our cruisers typically when we ride together. We have many Sport Bike Clubs that have joined the COC. We are all in this together. We are not just fighting for our rights, we are fighting for the rights of anybody on two wheels. We are not just promoting motorist watch out for cruisers with our safety and awareness campaigns, we are asking them to watch out for motorcycles. We are all in this together, and if we stand united together, we will have a louder voice. This is why all are welcome to the COC, any kind of bike, any color, any club or independent. If you ride two wheels, we are on the same side.

They are pretty rampant in the Hill Country and I have known many, one of them was my neighbor and after a few years he decided to call it quits because he couldn't make it to all the meets and was tired of some of the drama that was going on. They beat the living shyte out of him and stole his truck. He did not call the police because THAT was his penance for leaving the club. All of the ones that I have ever met are fairly genuine people but when they are out representing their club they turn into different people (all of the ones I have known) and as far as I am aware it is a rule to not show respect to other bikers outside of their class. It's a different story when you show up to a bar or their house and beers are being had, then they are very cordial, but not on the bikes.

Make no mistake, they are the dominant club in Texas and top of the food chain. They live by their rules and it is none of our business. They are great people if they let you get to know them but they live with a different level of conviction. They are called 1%'ers for a reason. They live the lifestyle 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. They are not weekend warriors. Their club comes first, above everything. That commitment is one 99% couldn't or wouldn't make. They are not a gang, they are a motorcycle club. They want to be shown respect and have earned it by establishing themselves as the domminant 1%'ers in this state and several others. They want to be acknowledged. If you walk into a bar and do not acknowledge them, it is taken as disrespect as though you are looking down on them even though it might be fear that keeps you from acknowledging them. They want you to show respect and you will gennerally get it in return. Many of you do not care about this topic and I suppose you can always go to another thread but there are some here that truly want to understand the motorcycle community and the few on this forum that want to talk with the anonymity of the internet or because of ignorance can make it bad for all. The motorcycle community is all about respect and protocall. My 2 cents.

Why when someone makes their own club do you require them to go "Through the proper channels". Technically their are no requirements for clubs, you do not have to register it with D.P.S., so why with you?

With respect, I am no weekend warrior as you so eloquently put it... I have ridden 24/7, 365 days a year for 16 years strong now. This 1% bullshit has got nothing to do with respect. Just a "reason" to act a bully. They are no better than I nor am I better than them. Period.

Share the road and the brew, fellas.
