High RPM Hesitation

I have an '07 CBR1000rr with 17300 miles and a couple mods (power commander, air filters). It idles and runs fine. The problem is at about 9k, there is a serious hesitation and it's difficult to build RPM higher. I changed plugs about 3k ago. Any thoughts on what to look for?

Did this start shortly after the mods?
Could it be improper map in PC?

What's the Firmware # on your PC?
You may just need an update.

Late response, thanks all. I don't think that it happened right after the installation of the PC and air filters. It revs fine and runs fine, it just hits a wall at 9K. Just FYI, I don't get to 9K often. The map in place is a map from PC based on the pipe that I have and nothing more. It sounds like I need to update the PC as a good maintenance measure.

Disconnect the PC from the bike and redrive temporarily.

You get what you pay for in maps; just saying. I'd recommend visiting w Patrick above a little more

What gears does this happen on?

Something similar happened on my bike and andrew's on 4th gear and up. Problem was solved by putting back ram air tubes.

I say check your ram air ducts/hoses etc. (im no expert though)

It happens in 3rd and 4th and maybe higher, but really not positive if it happens in certain gears or all gears.

On a side note...
Got any pics of your CB's? I love the old bikes

The CBs are projects right now, neither are running and not really presentable yet. Ya, I like the old CBs too.

As far as running out of fuel, I didn't find a filter or a filter reference in the factory manual. I'm guessing it has a simple "sock"type filter somewhere, maybe in the tank. Hard to believe that there is no filtering going on somewhere.

What is there to check on the ram air? My bike has an actuator at the entry of it. I've often wondered if this should be changed to remain full open all the time.

I have my work cut out for me when I get back in town. I appriciate all the input.
