Cops vs. Bikes

http://www.leftlanenews.com/cops-and...t-someone.html

This on my 'car news' website i check and just thought i would share.

After hearing about RR and ASI and PP1 and Forest ride all getting busted could this article have something to do with that? are cops cracking down? Is this not only a Houston problem but throughout the U.S? very interesting

As far as my opinion...
For now ill just say im neutral to avoid any arguing with me involved

But i will say this, cops want to pull bikes over SO BAD and that is social profiling. If an Arabic person go's to an airport with a turban on and all his 'natural attire' dont you think security will watch him more then me as a white male? Who knows he could be the coolest guy or heck even a terrorist, same thing with bikes, cops know there fast but it could be a weekend warrior who likes to go for a nice cruise or it could be the crazy squid pulling wheelies at 150.
When i ride i feel like cops are out to get me.

Thats my 0.02$

should be an interesting thread.

Never had any issue with cops, even when I'm speeding. Usually I wave at them; sometimes they wave back. I know a few personally from here (yes, on MH) or school. They are good guys just doing their job.

You have me beat (16 years for me)! I DID get a ticket last year, but it was dismissed, so it never happened - and it was in the truck.

Then maybe you should get off your and ride more, and I'll be blunt.. in regards to the 3mph thing. I think you are full of , <shrug> but that's my opinion.

Seems like you're throwing some mighty stones for no good reason other than you have some cop "buddies" and he hurt your feelers.
Then why is it, Squoddy and I don't have any awards to show? :-) Squod's addressing commonalities, sure OP may be 'special' and doesn't actually 'fit' the 'bill' so to speak... odds are, he does. This forum is littered with the virtual 'blood' and scrap left by those who thought/felt they were the exception.

I used to love bikes. The police stole that from me with profiling. I haven't ridden since last year. It got so ridiculous where I'm at that I got pulled over while pumping gas. Absolutely zero probable cause. He just dug until he could find something to write me for. I saw the same thing happen to a guy on an r1 the next day.

Hate to say it, but getting kinda tired of all the FTP threads.
I guess it's like a cat and dog thing, we're just always gonna be at odds with each other.

Speed Limit: They want us under, we want over.
Laws: They gotta enforce em, we wanna break em.
Red/Blue lights: They want us to stop, we wanna run.

You got good cops and bad cops.
You got good riders and bad riders.
The bad ones ruin it for the rest on both sides.

Eventually the animosity is gonna get to this point.

Most cops are genuinely nice and understanding.

but there is always a few bad apples in the bunch and those are the ones that make the headlines and cause many of the FTP sentiments.

Do I think some cops need to be taught a lesson of some sort about with bikers? Yes. Will they... probably not.

I have been riding for 20 years and have only been pulled over one time on my bike. Maybe I am just not trying hard enough? That was back in 93-94 doing 60 in a 35 on Bellaire in the Alief area. That cop let me go with a warning. I normally ride 10 over almost every where I go in car or on motorcycle. Faster on back country roads.

If there were truly so many cops out there with a hard-on for people on two wheels I would have been pulled over much more in 20 years.

I still believe that if you are getting screwed with non stop then you are giving them reason to screw with you. You reap what you sew. Enjoy....
