New VFR or Goldwing

Does anybody own or have ridden the new VFR. I checked one out today sat on it, felt comfortable, :/ they didn't have one I could ride. I want a touring bike but don't know if I want to go with the VFR or just go all the way and get a Goldwing. I'm about a year and a half out from actually getting one so I've got time to decide.

I want to do some serious cross country trips so a Goldwing might be a better choice.

VFR with some touring cases and a tent = good to go.

Age has nothing to do with it. I had a Wing when I was 24.

Thumbs up Gold Wing 1800 for the WIN!

Today I had the opportunity to ride a Gold Wing 1800 and can tell you this bike has a mind of its own, bad bike, rides like a sport bike but you are super comfortable, rode it from Tomball to Sugarland, and beleive me it was a bad ride I am going to take it to RR this weekend.

I was very surprised but it will be my pick, out of the two Honda bikes your mentioned.

haha... I don't want to get rid of my CBR but I'm thinking about touring the US like coast to coast, I'm not gonna do it on my CBR, I am to old for that ... SO.. I'm just kinda in a decide mode, of, is the VFR enough bike for that or should I go all they way and get the Wing so I don't regret it. I'm leaning towards the Wing I've heard and read good things about them. There's a guy on here I rode 149 with soon after he got one and it really looked smooth...

Honestly, the VFR after sitting on it didn't feel like much more of a bike than my CBR a little more comfortable but then I didn't get to ride it either.. I'm leaning towards the Wing.. but I've got a year or so to make my final choice.

I'd say go with the wing. All the reviews of the VFR have been pretty disappointing, and I really wanted it to be awesome too. Going coast to coast though I don't think anything could beat a Goldwing with a stereo and cup holders and what not.

I think those two bikes would compliment each other well. Then all you need is a good honda dirt bike and you could go anywhere!

all the reviews of the new VFR are so underwhelming it will be a wonder if they sell any of them.

Get an FJR...

Don't get the factory Nav if you get a gold wing.
Aftermarket is better and cheaper.

I've been wanting a sport tourer for some time now also.
The gold wing is just a bit too big and heavy for my size.
I'll have one someday, just not ready now...

The new VFR is too much money for too little bike IMO.
I'm currently looking for a low mileage 98+ VFR with some hard bags to do some regional touring. Maybe you should try finding something simular to get your feet wet.

I ride an old VFR, and I would probably pick the wing if I could actually park it in tight spots.
