i bet it's hard to launch a 6. there's no torque down low @ all. i've heard you got to rev it up to 8k-10k to launch. i'd be a little timid about letting the clutch out like that.

8K on a 6 and slide the clutch out. It sure helps if the front end is strapped.

yea on my R6 the power band is in the 7k+ so i was a bit timid to really go hard off the line the first time i did it but i did release it right
....i let it out too long

i have been leaving the line on my 600 between 7 and 8k if you strap the front and lower it in the rear it will help you alot
next month at hurricane alley race they have a stock et class that you would have a great time in

i liked dragging it was fun but i dont think its for me i would like to go again to see if i have improved but my r6 is not a drag bike so no strapping or lowering for me

Work on your 60' and you are in the 11's easy....

launching.. think of it this way.. it may SOUND like you're launching harder but having to ride your clutch is only robbing your HP. Start @ 6k, get comfy, then work your way up to find YOUR sweet spot.
Not that i'm great at 1/4 racing but I like to launch just under the powerband. When I get the bike settled in I want to be IN the power band.

also.... you may THINK you are tucked in on the bike but have someone take a pic of you. You are most likely not as tucked in as you think. :(

please chime in if I'm wrong about what I posted. I do not want to mis lead the guy...
