what the eeeffffff!

so Eximports did my 600 mile service on my brand new 09 daytona a few weeks ago. they busted the o-ring on the filler cap, so i had them fix it, and they busted it again, so i replaced it myself. well since then i have had to add a quart of oil almost weekly, but haven't even seen one drop on my garage floor. i took my lower fairings off yesterday and there's a THICK deposit of oil on EVERYTHING. I can't even tell where it's coming from because there's so much of it. there doesn't seem to be anything coming from the filler cap or the filter, so i dunno what to do. i haven't been to two wheel toys or Motorcycles Unlimited, so i called 2 Wheel Toyz since they're open today. i guess i need to get it inspected and get Triumph to cover it :/ only problem is this bike is my only transportation :(

Sounds like either A) they didn't tighten the oil pan plug or B: More likely they didn't tighten the oil filter / used the wrong one / pinched the o-ring.

If you have the belly pan off, wash the oil off the bike and see if you can tell where it's coming from.
If it looks like it's from the oil filter, try tightening it a little by hand only and see if it stops.

If it's something they did than they should stand behind it. If you have no confidence, have them fix it and insist that you be allowed to inspect the bike thoroughly before they reinstall the belly pan.

Holy , just a simple oil change and they did this! Do you really want them working on your BRAND NEW BIKE again? Definetly get ahold of their service manager and file a complaint.

i've already sent a lengthy email, and will be going up there tomorrow to complain. honestly, no, i don't want them touch my bike again, but they're the only one's who will fix it for free, and as soon as they do i will be going to Motorcycles Unlimited to have it looked at just so i can have peace of mind. after that i wont be going to eximports again

Can that place do anything right? What in the keeps them in business? Must be an endless line of people willing to pay new bike prices for used bikes.

Sorry to hear of your troubles, I know how frustrating it can be. Hope it works out for you.

I'm still saving up for my clipons before I come see u Patrick so don't think vie forgotten about u lol. I'm also gonna need a crank case gasket.

I would have it fixed right by a compitent tech and just take the bill up to them and not leave until they re-imbrues u
