speaking of target fixation

the other day, a weird thing happened to me, well besides the alien visit and probing, I'm talking about something else here.

I was tooling along on my Hardley at a speed of about 35 mph or so on beemer road, there was a piece of 2x4 board about 12" long laying in the road, it was laying in the direction the road runs, in other words, I was seeing the small end of the board.
So, real world, I had plenty of time to swerve and miss the whole thing, but weirdly enough I end up hitting it and going right over it.
After the fact I was thinking how weird, if it would have been a pot hole, I was going slow enough to go around, but as it was, the target was 2" tall x 4" wide, pretty small and I still hit it.
Just a weird thing how I saw it from a good distance and went directly to it instead of around it, , 4" over and I would have missed it. so much for day dreaming and riding

yeah, as small as it was, I went kabump right on over it pretty easily and harmless, actually a 2" x 4" is really 1.75" so it was a pretty harmless lesson in awareness.

Just a reminder that the bike goes where your looking! Wether it's in a straight line or around a curve.
