DPS investigates fatal crash on Texas 288
By DALE LEZON Copyright 2010 Houston Chronicle
Aug. 11, 2010, 10:05AM
One person died in a crash involving a motorcycle and a truck this morning on Texas 288 in Brazoria County.

The wreck happened on the southbound lanes of the freeway in the Iowa Colony area about 8 a.m., according to the Texas Department of Public Safety, which is investigating the collision.

It is unclear whether the motorcyclist or the driver of the truck died. No other injuries were reported.

Officials have temporarily shut down the southbound lanes near the crash site while troopers investigate the case. It is not known when the lanes will be reopened.

No other information was immediately available.

They're not sure whether the driver of the truck or the motorcyclist died? That's awful news, it's always a wake up call for me.

Where are these farms at must be some big pastures some where
it's Houston people die everyday here it gets old reading about random people dieing on a bike everyday. Nothing against you bro your still realtively new here. I know the dangers of what I do and would rather not be reminded regularly how poor of a choice I've made on my addictions.

When's the last time a truck and bike wrecked and the bike survived and the truck didn't.

RIP

Yea it does seem that there's been at least one death a day. There was 4 killed I believe yesterday that was in Iowa returning from Sturgis. Sounds like a drunk driver. Well that's the angle they're investigating it from.
