I raced shifter karts growing up and I don't think there would be much point in putting anything bigger than a 250 on it. You simply can't get the power to ground with an R1 motor.

You should just put a CR125 in it and race at the track.

You will run through a set of tires on each outing with a cr500 motor... you should check out TheMagicMan's shifter cart with a yz125 engine on there... its still almost TOO MUCH motor.

lmao i think a tricked out yz125 would be more than enough .. or a 250. just dont know if i want a 4 stroke or 2 stroke or what? the r1 engine is long gone. really wanted to do that but had to sell it.

serious, small 4 stroke will be lots of fun and hassle free. easy to find running on craigslist, all sizes.

I dunno, I just make stuff.
This is designed after the "slingshot" styled dragster of the 60's. Big motor, moon tank, straight axle and small tub.
I made the straight axle out of 3/8 plate, drilled in the mil, then plasma cut it out and added the top and bottom strips to mimick an i-beam axle.
The body is a wheelbarrow tub I hacked the back off of and made a firewall and used the hoop or rim part of the part I cut off to make the top of cowl and dash area. Then I "tubbed" it so the fat tires fit like they should.

blah blah blah [/threadjack]
